NYS II scandal prime suspect Ann Ngirita has been detained in prison custody after a surety withdrawn bond.

The surety whose details we can't reveal following a court order, on Tuesday, withdrew the security he had deposited in court to bail out Ann Ngirita.

Milimani Anti-Corruption Magistrate Eunice Nyutu ordered the detention of Ngirita after allowing a request by the surety to withdraw by the surety he had deposited for Ksh2 million.

Now Ngirita who has a corruption case relating to KSh226.9 million NYS scandal will remain in prison custody until she gets an alternative surety or cash bail early granted by the court when she answered the charges in 2018.

The new development comes after Ngirita together with her mother, her two sisters, former PS Lilian Omollo and others appeared in court for the hearing of the graft case.

The hearing of the case is currently proceeding in court.

The move by the surety may affect Ngirita's political ambition.
