A bar manager in Karangi, Migori county is currently nursing injuries after being attacked by three revellers over one of the bar attendants.

In a statement by the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI), the manager identified as Oscar Omondi, 28, of Azimio bar was attacked by the three armed with a machete and other crude weapons while closing the club after preventing them from leaving for the night with a newly employed bar waitress.

According to DCI, "Omondi was concerned with the high turnover of waitresses at his place of work who had eloped with revellers, and was determined not to let the current one go."

"The trio had patronized the bar for the better part of the evening and would occasionally steal glances at the 22-year-old voluptuous damsel, as she swaggered from one table to another serving thirsty revellers," the statement further read.

The trio is said to have hanged around the bar for over an hour after finishing their drinks. At around midnight when the bar was closing Omondi had already noticed their plans and destroyed them.

"Immediately he spoiled their plans an hour later at around midnight, they descended on him with machetes, knives and clubs before breaking into the counter and making away with an unspecified amount of money," the statement further read.

Detectives in the area have launched a manhunt for the trio.
