A 20-year-old girl has committed suicide at Kasaye Kokoth Kataa location within Karachuonyo constituency, Homa Bay County under unclear circumstances.

Daisy Akoth, a former student at Mawego Training Institute is said to have committed the act at her uncle's house while her grandmother was away attending church services.

According to the area chief Michael Owino, the late first-year student who was pursuing a diploma in electrical engineering had complained of having headaches and had remained at home relaxing under a tree before her demise.

Owino said Akoth only left behind a note indicating the M-Pesa pins of the two communication lines she owned and her phone adding that the reason behind the suicide is yet to be known.

"The late had been left at home by her grandmother with whom she used to stay with complaining of headaches however when the grandmother who had gone to church returned, her lifeless body was found hanging on the rooftop of her uncle's house," the administrator stated.

Adding;

"We are yet to know the main reason why the former student of Mawego TTI may have decided to take away her life since she only left behind a note indicating M-Pesa pins to the two lines she owned."

Owino further advised the parents to always keep close to their children and offer pieces of advice on the problems they normally face.

"What has happened is demonic and very sad, let us as parents keep our children close to enable them to share with us problems they usually face," he said.

The deceased body has since been taken to Kendu Bay Adventist Hospital for preservation.
