TikTok sensation Brian Chira has been released on a cash bail of Ksh50,000 with an alternative of a bond of Ksh100,000.

Brian Chira pleaded not guilty during his appearance at Kibera Law Courts on Monday, July 31, 2023, for allegedly defaming internet personality Azziad Nasenya.

According to his lawyer Michael Masinde, the content creator was charged with offences under section 27 of the computer misuse and cybercrime act.

Speaking to the press outside Kibera Law Court he noted that the TikToker is currently fundraising to get his cash bail.

"He was arrested on Thursday at noon and was not presented at any court until today. My client is fundraising at the moment, we are hopeful that he will manage to raise the cash bail," the lawyer noted.

According to Azziad's lawyer identified as Gertrude Kibare, Chira was arrested in Nakuru before he was booked into a Wilson Airport police station.

Speaking during her appearance on Eve Mungai Youtube channel, the lawyer stated that Chira used defamatory statements against Azziad through his TikTok on a live session.

The controversial content creator is also accused of sharing her personal contacts with his audience without her consent.

"Some time last week he went live online and also shared Azziad's contacts. My client has been buzzed with a lot of calls and messages since then. Chira allegedly committed computer misuse and cyber crimes and my client decided to pursue the matter legally. The matter is under investigation," the advocate stated.
