Lifestyle vlogger Sharon Mundia popular for her moniker This Is Ess has weighed in on celebrities who have had plastic surgery.

In an engagement with her fans on Instagram, the vlogger wondered whether it is necessary for celebrities to disclose if they have underwent surgery.

Mundia maintained that she finds it unnecessary to reveal such and it should be kept a secret, unless they are doing it for the industry that they represent.

“I don't think they have to. It ultimately boils down to self-awareness

“At first, I thought yes, then because and I think especially if they are a part of a team that's kind of setting the standards for that industry then you should share if you've had work done,” she said.

Validating everything in their lives

The vlogger noted that once a celebrity comes out and reveals that she underwent a cosmetic surgery, fans will always keep tabs and they will always need to validate themselves when needed to.

“…if we go that route it will never end we will expect them to share everything so we have them validating everything in their life,” Mundia added.

Mundia also highlighted celebrities who deny that they have underwent surgery despite drastic and overnight transformations.

“And then I thought the real issue here is when we see that image or that video or whatever of that celebrity we feel a certain way and so that's why we like you should have told us because you make that image made us feel like we aren't good enough, rich enough because that's what social media is about,” she stated.

Sharon Mundia weight loss journey

After giving birth to her daughter, Mundia took a social media break to focus on loosing weight.

While announcing her social media come back, she disclosed that she managed to loose 12 kilograms from when she was pregnant.

“Before I got pregnant I had a horrible track record of eating various things and eating healthy. I would have six slices of white bread for breakfast, I would have pizzas and chicken chips and just greasy things because I love them. I got pregnant and for the first trimester leading up to second trimester as well i had the worst morning sickness. It was so bad, I was smelling food and would throw up and I had to take medication for that to just help my body to keep some food so I could nourish my little one

“I genuinely tried to eat healthy and thankfully my body transitioned into this phase where I actually liked greens in fact one of the things I did when I was pregnant is when I woke up one morning and I was craving a salad for breakfast. At the very beginning I asked my obstetrician to give me an idea of how much weight she thought I should add or average on the weight spectrum. The main thing that helped me loose my baby weight was breast feeding,” Mundia said.

Celebrities who have underwent cosmetic surgery

A number of Kenyan female celebrities have been rumoured to have underwent surgery mainly to enhance their looks.

Those who have admitted to the same include Huddah Monroe, Vera Sidika, Risper Faith and TikToker Cindy Kipsang who underwent a non-surgical surgery to enlarge her butt.

Those rumoured to have underwent the knife for beauty purposes include Azziad Nasenya, Amber Ray and Tanasha Donna.

For instance, Azziad was in April put on the spot over her trip to Turkey after a section of her followers believed that she had traveled to get a plastic surgery.

Reacting to the claims, the radio presenter hit out at her critics noting that she was contented with her physical appearance.

She urged netizens to change their perception of the country, adding that she was in Turkey to experience the world.

“Who said visiting Turkey has to be about making our bodies and surgeries. Some of us love our bodies and appreciate them and would never change a thing. It’s 2022, wake up. People are travelling the world it is a tourist country,” Azziad wrote.
