‘Musiniulize license’- Salasya tells KFCB as he prepares to launch his YouTube channel

Mumias East Member of Parliament Peter Salasya has pleaded with the Kenya Film Classification Board (KFCB) ahead of his YouTube channel‘s official launch.

Taking to his official Instagram account, the first-time lawmaker disclosed that he would launch his YouTube channel dubbed ‘Salasya TV’ on Saturday, June 1, 2024, and asked his fans to subscribe as they await the official launch.

“Good evening my people, Our launch date of Salasya TV on the YouTube channel is on the 1st, (of) June, Kindly let's start subscribing to this channel right this moment, Members Subscribe to my YouTube channel SALASYA -TV link on my bio,” he said.

While sending invites, Salasya pleaded with the KFCB not to ask him to pay for the filming license.

Disclosing what the channel will be all about, the comical MP stated that he would produce content and straight talk on his real-life experience.

Pale itakua pure content and straight talks on real life situations e.g politics, family, career, relationships, and more interesting topics,” he disclosed.

KFCB License

KFCB on Wednesday, May 22, 2024, asked a section of YouTubers to acquire the requisite filming license however, the board’s chairperson Njogu wa Njoroge through his official social media account ordered the management to withdraw the notices served to the YouTubers which required them to license their channels.

 “withdraw the notices and organize for an engagement with all the stakeholders we should be talking about thousands of opportunities, if not hundreds of thousands of jobs in the digital media,” he said.

Adding that content creators should be supported and trained on monetization.

“Our content creators should be supported all the way. They should be encouraged and supported 100%. We should be training our youth on monetization and we are deliberate on that matter. I have directed the management to, “he wrote.
