Gospel singer Phil Kimemia has opened up on his relationship with drama series Selina actress Celestine Gachuhi.
In an interview with Mungai Eve, the singer opened up on challenges that came with dating the popular actress.
He admitted to being trolled over the relationship by social media users who believed that he does not deserve to be dating Celestine.
Handling criticism online
However, Phil noted that he developed a thick skin with time and he understands better how to handle hate online.
“Honestly, I’ve learnt to live my own life, so it’s all about the two of us, it’s about me and what I’m doing. Some decisions you don’t make because of the public
“There’s a lot that goes on and I don’t mind about such people. Some times I read those messages and I ignore but they don’t bother me because I know myself, I know my person and I know why we’re there,” Phil said.
He also stated that he learnt to ignore whatever is said online, noting that people will also have different opinions.
“You just ignore because people will always have different opinions and it’s unnecessary pressure. The more attention you give it, the more pressure it gives you but it’s a non-issue,” Phil added.
Phil Kimemia on fatherhood
The gospel musician who recently became a dad also opened up on fatherhood and the experience he has had since then.
Phil said after the birth of their baby, he was forced to adjust a couple of things in his life.
“We got a baby and it’s amazing. It’s a new journey because it’s our first time so it has it’s own ups and downs… There’s a lot behind the scenes because you have to adjust and think differently,” he said.

The singer and his actresses wife welcomed their daughters on May 3, 2022.
Phil shared the good news in an update on his Instagram page where he wrote;
“I've finally met a girl with the most beautiful voice in the world! I can never forget that feeling when I heard you cry
“It was a unique sound, so beautiful. Experiencing the whole process was terrific. Your mom is a fighter and a strong woman.”
On the other hand, Celestine said;
“Our miracle baby girl came, it's been a week now and our lives have since changed completely. Phil Kimemia thank God for you, you’ve stood by me since day one, the ups and downs as my priest. God bless you. It can only be God.”
The couple announced that they are expecting their first child together on February 14, 2022.
