Kenyan comedian Eric Omondi has reacted to Kenyan gospel singer Ringtone Apoko's dramatic arrest on Friday, July 21.

The funny man still doubts if the arrest was real or if it's one of his clout-chasing antics as Ringtone is well known to cross extreme lengths when it comes to attention seeking.

Speaking to Mungai Eve Media, Eric together with fellow comedian Eddie Butita revealed that they suspect that the singer may be producing a new music video.

The two went further to joke about giving it a week or so to be sure Apoko is really arrested and not one of his social media antics.

"Ubaya ya Ringtone, hatujui kama ameshikwa ya ukweli (With Ringtone, you never know if he was arrested for real)," Eric noted.

"Inaeza kua ni wimbo inaitwa 'Arrested' (It might be a song dubbed 'Arrested')," Butita jested.

"Anaeza kua anashoot video, ni video bro (He might be shooting a video)," Eric added.

"Mtu kama Ringtone unaipeanga one week, ati bado ako ndani, tumtoe (With Ringtone, you give it a week then we can release him if he is still in)," he joked further.

Eric , Guiness World Record, arrests

Eric Omondi also revealed plans to get arrested as many times as he can in an etch to enter into the Guinness World Record as an individual with many arrests in the world.

He also revealed that in order for that to happen, he has to be arrested 21 times before this year ends.

Ringtone Apoko arrested

The gospel singer was arrested on Friday, July 21, following an alleged incident in Karen residence where he reportedly stormed into a Sudanese home.

Speaking to the media, the homeowners revealed that they inherited the home from their late father.

"The house is ours... We acquired it after the demise of our father in 2012 here in Nairobi. We went back to South Sudan for the burial. In the process of the funeral and the passage of our dad. It took us a while to come back to Nairobi, it took us a while to settle down.

"We were also unfortunately saddened by the crisis of the civil war in our country in 2013. We were still living there in 2014, and I left my brother there early 2014, but around mid-2014 one of our brothers evacuated my little brothers. that he wanted to rent the house. Since then they vandalised the house. Our cars disappeared," one of the homeowners narrated.

The homeowner , Paulino Matip, claims that they have been unable to access their house citing attempts to file a petition had been futile as Ringtone had rented out their home.

"... 2016 I was denied access to the house. I filed a report but it was null and void. I went to South Sudan. That is when I heard that Alex Apoko had gained access to the house. I reported it to our embassy," he revealed.

Ringtone Apoko is reportedly being held at Lang'ata Police station.
