Self-proclaimed president of comedy Africa Eric Omondi has responded to Shakilla following her recent claims that the former used her.

Shakilla had accused the comedian of using her to promote his shows including the infamous 'Wife Material' without paying her.

"Eric has used me in so many ways. He did not pay me or anyone on the wife material show and was biased and unfair in choosing the winner," she lamented on her Instagram live.

However, speaking to Milele FM, Omondi refuted all the claims insisting in the Wife Material show the terms were clear that no one was supposed to be paid but for his other show dubbed Divalicious, he paid the socialite Ksh18,000.

Omondi further claimed that he did not sleep with her and although Shakilla was thirsting for him he was keen not to compromise his shows.

"I swear to God I paid her Ksh18,000 for the Divalicious show. About the Wife Material show, it is public knowledge that nobody was paid. That was a platform for the cast to take advantage of as I was using my own money," Eric Omondi said.

Shakilla's claims

Shakilla took to Instagram live to reveal their strained relationship with Omondi where he also accused him of being biased.

For instance, she claimed when he was shooting his infamous Wife Material show, Omondi completely refused to pay her dues and the rest of the cast members. Her efforts to get her pay have been in vain to date as Eric fails to pick up her calls.

This, she says prompted her to be dramatic to gain from the show saying;

"I had to come up with a wise way to gain from the show. I convinced myself that if I don't get any monetary value on this at least I'll get social media presence out of it."

Further, Shakilla asked Eric to walk his talk on supporting local talents.

"Eric uses people. You cannot claim you are supporting artistes and you are not paying content creators," she opined.
