Police officers in Nyeri have launched investigations into the murder of two night guards who were found dead in a resort in the Kiamuru area.
Confirming the incident, police stated that Jeremiah Ndung'u (the resort owner) found the bodies of the two night guards identified as Francis Maina and Japheth Muthuri at the time he was opening his business.
Police added that the intruders broke into the main office before they disappeared with electronic items and alcoholic drinks.
“He opened his business in the morning and found two-night guards namely Francis Maina and Japheth Muthuri having been murdered. Upon inspecting the premises he found the main office having been broken too and electronic items, including two TV sets which served as the CCTV server, Sony Sound System, Business License and alcoholic drinks assorted,” the Police said in a report.
So far, three suspects linked to the murder have been arrested.
Former KDF officer and accomplices
The three include an Ex-Kenya Defence Force (KDF) officer identified as Mark Muthomi Munjami, Lilian Wairimu (a former casual labourer at the resort) and George Githinji Maina.
It is reported that Wairimu, a former waitress at the resort, conversed with the CCTV technician several times before the incident occurred.
The three had also sent threat messages to the hotel manager Jeremiah Ndungu
The bodies of two men are currently lying at the Mathari Mission Hospital mortuary awaiting postmortem.
