Nairobi Hospital on Wednesday announced that it will begin Covid-19 testing after it received approval from the Ministry of Health (MOH).
In a statement to newsrooms, the hospital said that it has also been validated to offer Covid-19 testing services by the National Influenza Center Laboratory.
"The testing facility at the laboratory located at the Main Hospital on Argwings Kodhek Rd has capacity to process 80 tests per day on a manual platform with automation of the entire testing, on high throughput equipment expected to be in process by April 27, increasing the testing capacity to 900 tests per day," said the hospital.

The hospital will provide the test results within 6-24 hours of sampling.
"The additional testing capacity will allow more cases to be identified and treated quickly to help manage this pandemic," the hospital's Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Dr Allan Pamba, said.
To get the test, the clients will pass through the hospital's triage at the Accident & Emergency Centre where a doctor will take their medical history before prescribing the test.
"Clients will be allowed to go home after sampling and results will emailed to them," said Dr. Pamba.
For positive results, the hospital said that clients will be contacted by their doctor and followed up by the Health ministry for isolation at their facility of choice and contact tracing.
The test for Covid-19, also known as PCR SARS COV-2, will set back clients Sh10,000.
So far, the number of Covid-19 cases in the country has increased to 303.
