A 53-year-old woman from Kirinyaga on Thursday, April 16 broke down and cried at the Kerugoya Police Station after she was arrested for threatening to kill nominated MCA Lucy Njeri.
Jane Wanjiru allegedly threatened Njeri after the ward rep said she had lost interest in supporting the impeachment motion against Governor Anne Waiguru.
Wanjiru, a peasant farmer, was arrested on Wednesday by DCI detectives at her Kagumo home after Njeri identified her as one of the people who had been calling and threatening to harm her.

Besides threatening to kill the ward rep, the suspect is said to have accused Njeri of cowardice for reneging on her plans to impeach Waiguru.
Wanjiru allegedly told the MCA that she will send boda boda riders to “discipline” the ward rep should she (Njeri) set foot in Kagumo Town.
While in tears Thursday, the suspect said she blamed Satan for her “loose tongue”.
“Evil spirits made me utter the words,” she said.
“I apologise to the MCA, and I highly regret my actions. From today, henceforth, I will support the ward rep unconditionally, and promise never to harm her.”
The complainant, Njeri, said she had dropped the plan of pressing charges against the remorseful Wanjiru.
The MCA says ever since she declared her support for Waiguru following initial plans to impeach the county chief, she (Njeri) has been receiving numerous death threats on a daily basis.
Police closed the case file against Wanjiru, warning to take action against her should she continue hurling insults and threatening to harm people.
