A woman was charged at the Makadara Law Courts for allegedly creating a disturbance on May 8, 2023.

The 24-year-old identified as Faith Mokeira is said to have locked her parents out of their home in Marurui, Kasarani in Nairobi forcing them to seek accommodation at their neighbour’s house.

When confronted, she allegedly threw household items while shouting at her father David Nyambane who had returned home at around 8 pm.

Efforts to plead with his daughter, who graduated from a university in 2021, were rendered futile forcing him to report the matter at Marurui police post.

She, however, remained adamant forcing her parents to sleep outside.

The following day Nyambane and his wife returned to the police station and this time left for their home accompanied by officers from the station.

Upon return, Nyambane was, however, forced to borrow a ladder to gain entrance into his home through the perimeter wall where they found his daughter had allegedly destroyed window glasses and other items.

She was later arrested and escorted out of the house.

Police investigations revealed that Mokeira was angry at her father for bringing an electrician to do some repairs to her room without informing her in advance.

She also accused him of intruding on her privacy after.

She appeared before Senior Principal Magistrate Agnes Mwangi and was released on a cash bail of Ksh4,000.

The case is scheduled for mention on May 29.
