COTU Secretary General Francis Atwoli now says President Uhuru Kenyatta must remain in government to take Kenya to the next level.

Atwoli says even if it means amending the constitution, President Uhuru is too young to retire.

"We must amend and revisit this constitution. President Uhuru is not retiring like other presidents who become elders after retirement," he said.

He stated that Uhuru will be Mt Kenya's spokesperson to lead the region in the social-economic and political life owing to his wealth of experience.

He said that the vote-rich region suffered a huge blow after the death of President Kenyatta's father as they remained out of power for over 20 years.

"He will remain somewhere as a spokesperson. Central Kenya took more than 20 years to get a leader after the death of Mzee Kenyatta," he added.

He maintained that President Kenyatta and ODM leader Raila Odinga must take Kenyans to the next level and will have massive victory come August 9.

"With his brother Raila Odinga, they must take Azimio to victory on August 9," he noted.

President Kenyatta is set to retire after the completion of his two-term limit at the helm of the presidency.

According to the current constitution, a president is only supposed to serve for two terms of five years each.

Meanwhile, Atwoli castigated Kenya Kwanza leaders for moving too fast on politics saying there was nothing like UDA in the world.

He at the same time took issue with ANC leader Musalia Mudavadi for betraying President Uhuru even after all the support he got during the burial of his mother.

"According to our Luhya traditions, you cannot support me during the burial of my mother by making it a state funeral then I betray you. Church people, please pray for Musalia Mudavadi as he will lose it. President Uhuru Kenyatta will see him go down and not the other way round," he added.
