Amani National Congress (ANC) party leader Musalia Mudavadi has asked the youth to come out in large numbers and register as voters.

Through a Public Announcement Statement (PSA) video shared on his Twitter page, Mudavadi told the youth that the future is in their hands.

Vijana, taifa letu liko katika njia panda. Tumefuliza ya kutosha. Sasa ni wakati wa kujipanga upya na kujijenga,” Mudavadi said in the video posted on Friday, October 8.

The ANC party leader further reminded Kenyans that mass voter registration conducted by the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) which begun on October 4 is still ongoing.

“The time and opportunity for us to register as voters in large numbers is here. Let us take this opportunity and do so,” Mudavadi said.

IEBC has committed to registering at least six million new voters during the nationwide continuous voter registration process.

Commission Chairperson Wafula Chebukati on Friday said the continuous voter registration exercise will be conducted at the County Assembly Ward level.

“I urge all eligible Kenyans who have not registered as voters to turn up in large numbers and register,” he said as he unveiled the four new members of the commission who were sworn into office by Chief Justice Martha Koome to replace four commissioners who quit after the 2017 General Election.
