Strong winds on Tuesday evening hit Kenya’s capital, Nairobi, its neighbouring counties and other parts of the country, catching many flat-footed.
The weatherman has issued warnings, saying the high winds are originating from the Indian Ocean, and are likely to be experienced for hours.
The winds whipped up dust storms in parts of Nairobi Tuesday evening.

Kitui, Kiambu, Kirinyaga, Murang’a are among other counties that experienced the high winds, which uprooted trees and led to power outages.
Strong wind caused a tree to fall across Convent Road in Lavington, Nairobi disrupting traffic flow.
The winds are also reported to have been experienced in Arusha and other parts of Tanzania.
