Detectives arrest suspects, recover 16 stolen motorcycles

Law enforcement officers have apprehended two suspects and recovered 16 motorcycles believed to have been stolen.

The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) reported that the authorities conducted a raid at Leswags Motor Parts Thayu S.S. Petrol Station along Juja Road, resulting in the recovery of the suspected stolen motorcycles.

"Sixteen suspected stolen motorcycles were recovered last evening by police officers based at Nairobi's DCI Starehe and their uniformed counterparts from Muthaiga Police Station, in an intelligence-led operation conducted at Leswags Motor Parts Thayu S.S. Petrol Station along Juja Road," the DCI statement read.

The operation was carried out jointly by officers from DCI Starehe and uniformed personnel from Muthaiga Police Station.

The two suspects apprehended during the operation were identified as Dominic Otieno Omollo and Antony Kagimbi Kanyoro.

"Two suspects, Dominic Otieno Omollo and Antony Kagimbi Kanyoro, in whose garage the said motorcycles were found were also arrested in the 8 pm raid. Listed are the recovered motorcycles which have since been processed and documented as exhibits at DCI Starehe," DCI stated.

The DCI said they were arrested at a garage where the motorcycles were found.

The list of the recovered motorcycles was provided, each of which has been processed and documented as exhibits at DCI Starehe.

The motorcycles varied in make, model, and colour, ranging from Shinery Red to Honda Red and including brands like Hero/Hunter, Bajaj, and Boxer.

KMEL 293R Boxer frame 8. KMED 427U Ranger blue in colour 9. KMFB 559J Ranger blue 10. KMDM 861L Captain Blue 11. KMDB 468W frame 12. KMFG 771G Boxer pimped up with purple 13. KMDM 694C Boxer red 14. KMDN 717Y Honda red 15. KMGK 700K Ranger Black 16. KMFW 438W Ranger Black," DCI revealed

The DCI further disclosed that the suspects would be presented before the Makadara Law Courts on Monday, March 25, 2024, where they will face charges related to the alleged theft and possession of stolen property.

"The suspects will be arraigned before Makadara Law Courts on Monday, March 25, 2024."
