Mumias East Member of Parliament (MP) Peter Salasya has criticised Cabinet Secretary for Youth Affairs, the Arts, and Sports, Ababu Namwamba's Talanta Hela Council committee members.
The MP in a tweet questioned why Namwamba appointed TikTok sensation Azziad Nasenya to Creatives Technical Committee saying he is trying to impress the content creator.
He claims, he has been trying to reach the CS for what he terms as a serious engagement in vain.

Azziad is among the personalities who were selected for the Talanta Hela initiative aimed at supporting the growth of the country’s sports and creative economy, creating employment opportunities, and positioning Kenya as a destination of choice for sports tourism and film-making.

The council under the Ministry of Youth Affairs, Sports, and the Arts include two technical committees; for sports and for creatives according to a gazette notice by the CS.
It will also include the Principal Secretary of the State Department of Sports, the Principal Secretary of the State Department of Youth Affairs and the Arts, the Principal Secretary of the State Department of Basic Education, and representatives from the Council of Governors.
Working under the CS, several personalities including David Langat, Debra Mallowah, Abraham Kipyego Mutai, Charles Gacheru, Claudia Naisabwa Leshomoo, Nobert Ouma, June Chepkemei, and Dennis Itumbi were appointed for a period of three years.
On the other hand, Sports Technical Committee led by Carol Radull as Chairperson comprises 11 members - Boniface Ambani, Julius Kiplagat Yego, Neddy Kutsuru, Alfred Makotsi, Sammy Tiyoi Shollei, Collins Kale, Kevin Mutai, Shilovelo Winna Shilavula, Daniel Nakeor Losiru, Staicy Shariffa Ochieng.
The Creatives Technical Committee under the leadership of Daniel Ndambuki (Churchill) as Chairperson comprises 10 members, including Akinyi Odongo, Jimmi Gathu, Catherine Kamau, Esther Akoth, Kizito Makhande, Azziad Nasenya, Rosemary Wahu Kagwi, Awadhi Salim Awadhi, Douglas Kipkirui Langat, and Susan Ekasiba.
