Mama Rachel Ruto will host the US First Lady, it has been revealed.

"Her Excellency, The First Lady, Mama Rachel Ruto will be honoured with an official visit by Dr Jill Biden, The First Lady of the United States of America, on Friday, February 24, 2023," Rachel Ruto said in a press release.

According to Rachel Ruto, Jill Biden's trip will focus on women's economic empowerment projects.

The Kenyan First Lady said that her American counterpart will visit the joyful women program where she will get a chance to experience table banking.

"Dr Biden will focus on women's economic empowerment projects and will visit the joyful women program, where she will get a chance to experience table banking; a transformational economic empowerment model championed by her excellency Mama Rachel Ruto, which operates under Mama Doing Good Organization.

"The Joyful Women Program table banking model is active in 39 out of 47 counties in Kenya and aims to expand to all 47 counties," Rachel Ruto said.

Jill Biden is visiting Kenya from Friday, February 24, to Sunday 26 February 2023, to strengthen America's partnerships with Kenya and the African continent.

This visit will be her third visit to Kenya and the first as a First Lady.

Jill Biden will arrive in Kenya from Namibia where her trip was focused on the role of young people in continuing to shape their democracy and advance health cooperation.

Her visit to Africa comes ahead of expected visits by her husband President Joe Biden and other senior administration officials later this year.
