The main suspect in the killing of a night guard at the Latter-Day Saints Church in Likoni in August last year has been arrested.

22-year-old Douglas Njenga is accused of killing Hamisi Kadilo who was guarding the church in Likoni.

Hamisi was killed and his body thrown into a borehole.

Confirming the arrest of the accused, the officer in charge of the investigations in Likoni Richard Koywer, said the suspect was found hiding in the caves of Mama Ngina.

“On the day when the killing happened, he was accused of attacking the man using a panga and later dumped him in a borehole where the body was recovered.

"It happened last year in August and since then we have been looking for Njenga who is the suspect in the murder. He was found hiding in caves in the Mama Ngina area,” Richard said.

The suspect is expected to be arraigned in court later today.
