A police officer from Kuria West in Migori County was on Tuesday evening (December 8) caught red-handed defiling an 8-year-old girl.

The suspect, identified as Kennedy Kiplang’at, was spotted by the minor’s two female friends entering the minor’s bedroom at 6pm. The children, thereafter, alerted the victim’s mother.

The parent, who rushed to the room, found Kiplang’at defiling the child. Both the suspect and the victim were naked in bed during the discovery.

The guardian, thereafter, raised the alarm, attracting the neighbours’ attention.

Police have since established that Kiplang’at is attached to Getonganya police post.

A medical examination conducted on the minor at the Kuria West Hospital established that the child had been defiled.

Kiplang’at will be arraigned once investigations into his alleged offence are concluded.
