Police in Kasarani have launched a manhunt for a suspect alleged to have killed his ex-wife in Kahawa West.

According to a police report seen by K24 Digital, Susan Syombua was reported missing by her brother on Tuesday, August 16, 2022, and her rented house was locked from the inside.

When the police went to the scene, the body of the deceased was found lying in the bathroom naked.

Syombua, 35, had injury marks on the neck and shoulder, and blood was oozing from her mouth.

“Susan Syombua aged 35 was reported missing since 16/8/2022 and her rental house was locked from inside. Her body was found lying in the bathroom with visible injury marks on the neck and shoulder with blood oozing from the mouth,” the police report read in part.

Police probe

Preliminary investigations by the police indicated that the ex-husband had been seen in the house by the caretaker.

“The deceased ex-husband was seen in the residence by the caretaker the night before and in the morning. Neighbours heard screams from the house but were not bothered,” the report stated.

The body of the deceased was taken to Kenyatta University Memorial Funeral Home awaiting an autopsy.

In another incident in Kasarani, a 26-year-old man was shot and seriously injured after fighting with armed robbers.

The victim identified as Silas Ondiek reported to police that while walking home, he was stopped by men who were riding on a motorcycle and ordered to surrender the laptop that he was carrying.

He defied the order and this prompted them to shoot him on the thigh before grabbing his phone and escaping.

The police recovered a spent cartridge which was taken for ballistic examination.

Ondiek was rushed to hospital where he was treated and he is in stable condition.
