Police in Buruburu are investigating the cause of a fire that ravaged a vehicle and killed the driver at a Katulo Road court in Buruburu Phase 5 early Wednesday.

The vehicle, which was parked at the Mai Mahiu Court yard near House Number 465, went up in flames after the driver, a 36-year-old man, got into the car, a Subaru Impreza.

The occupant was burnt beyond recognition, a report filed at the Buruburu Police Station by the Chairman of Mai Mahiu Court on Katulo Road, Cyrus Chege, said.

Though police have identified the victim, we won’t immediately identify him in this article for ethical reasons.

The victim leaves behind a 29-year-old widow and two children.

“The cause of the 8:30am fire is yet to be known,” police said.

Body of the victim was moved to a Nairobi morgue.
