A plane has crashed into a two-story office building in a Milan suburb, killing all six people on board.

Firefighters rushed to the scene near a subway station in San Donato Milanese, but the pilot and five passengers died at the scene.

No one other than those aboard were involved in the early afternoon crash.

The nationalities of the deceased are not yet known

Emergency workers said several cars in a nearby parking lot were set ablaze, but apparently the vehicles were unoccupied at the time

The plane is said to have been flying between Milan’s Linate airport and the Italian island of Sardinia.

Firefighters were extinguishing the flames of the now-charred building, which reportedly was under renovation.

However, the passengers on board are believed to be French.
