Over 100 bodaboda operators have been arraigned at Milimani law courts Nairobi over traffic offences.

They reportedly committed the offence on March 8, 2022, at around 9:00 am along Parklands Road in Nairobi county.

Senior Principal Magistrate Esther Kimilu has slapped them with a fine ranging between Ksh30,000 and Ksh35,000 each.

Their arraignment comes after Inspector-General of Police Hillary Mutyambai on Tuesday, March 9 said that police had managed to apprehend over 200 bodaboda operators during a crackdown in Nairobi Central Business District (CBD).

In a statement, Mutyambai said that the officers conducted a crackdown on bodaboda operators after a section of them were caught on camera s3xually assaulting a female motorist along Wangari Maathai road.

The IG said that he will ensure that the operation goes on to ensure that sanity is restored within the boda boda sector.

“Police officers are not going to stop in this great drive. We are out to ensure sanity reigns in the country,” Mutyambai said.
