Fire engulfed parts of the Oasis Village Hotel in Malindi, Kilifi County on Saturday afternoon.

The cause of the inferno, which was spreading fast as of the time of publishing this story, remains unclear.

No casualty has been confirmed in the incident.

Shella Location chief, Nicodemus Mwayele, told K24 Digital that property worth millions of shillings were destroyed in the fire.

As of the time of writing this story, fire fighters from Malindi station were yet to arrive at the scene, with locals using rudimentary methods to contain the blaze.

Oasis Village Hotel, which offers accommodation services, is located 1.8 kilometers from Malindi Beach. Popular points of interest near the facility include Portuguese Chapel and the Vasco da Gama Pillar.
