New Kiambu county boss, Dr. James Nyoro, on Wednesday, made several Cabinet changes, including nominating Dr. Joyce Wanjiku Ngugi for the vacant deputy governor post.

Ms Ngugi is not new to politics and leadership having vied for the Gatundu South Constituency seat in a 2014 by-election after the death of her husband Joseph Ngugi Nyumu.

She also contested for a Jubilee ticket in primaries in Gatundu South in 2017 but lost to Moses Kuria.

Ms. Ngugi is a teacher by profession and holds a doctorate in psychology.

Until her nomination, Ms. Ngugi served as the chairperson of the National Council for Children.

Dr. Nyoro also reshuffled his Cabinet, firing two ministers Mr. Joseph Ng'an'ga and Juliet Kimemia from the Education and Roads docket.
