The newly appointed high court judges arrived in style on Monday, May 25, 2024, for induction by the Kenya Judiciary Academy (KJA).
The twenty judges include Moses Ado Otieno, Alice Chepngetich Bett Soi, Benjamin Mwikya Musyoka, John Lolwatan Tamar, Francis Weche Andayi, Andrew Bahati Mwamuye, Julius Kipkosgei Ng'arng'ar, Wendy Kagendo Micheni, Emily Onyando Ominde and Helene Rafaela Namisi.
The other judges are Alexander Muasya Mutetiand, Julius Mukut Nangea, Benjamin Kimani Njoroge, Caroline Jepyegen Kendagor, Stephen Nzisi Mbungi, Linus Poghon Kassan, Noel Onditi Adagi Inziani, Tabitha Ouya Wanyama, Rhoda Cherotich Ruto and Joe Omido Mkutu.

"We recognize that you bring to the High Court a wealth of blended experience from the bar, the bench, academia, civil society, and other capacities in which you have served the nation. We are confident that you will conduct your duties with zeal and integrity," Commissioner Duncan Okello said while welcoming the judges.
Judges appointment process
The appointments were announced in a Gazette notice dated May 9, 2024, after a vetting process by the Judicial Service Commission (JSC).
The judges emerged successful after a thorough selection process in which out of the total 305 applicants, only 100 were shortlisted and interviewed between April 3 and May 3, 2024.
The high court judges will be instrumental in revamping the already understaffed judiciary to dispense justice in courts spread across the country.
