Narok residents arrest murder suspect, tie him with rope before frogmarching him to police

Police in Narok on Thursday, January 25, 2024, arrested the main suspect behind the gruesome murder of a 45-year-old woman.

In a statement, the National Police Service (NPS) noted that the suspect, Patrick Mujitwa, 46, was handed over to officers from Lolgorian police station and DCI officers by members of the public who had arrested him and tied him with a rope.

When police visited the crime scene, they discovered the victim's body lying in a pool of blood with multiple deep cuts on the head, elbow, abdomen, right leg, and the right hand.

"Today January 25, 2024, NPS Officers from Lolgorian Police Station and their DCI Transmara South colleagues re-arrested one Patrick Mujitwa, 46 a suspect in the killing of one female Sarah, 45 at Kilae Sub-Location, Moyoi Location in Narok County.

"He was initially arrested by members of public who tied him with a rope. Police found the body of the woman lying in a pool of blood with multiple deep cuts on the head, deep cut on the right hand at the elbow, a cut on the abdomen and a deep cut on the right leg," the statement reads in parts.

The suspect is said to have inflicted multiple injuries on his victim using a slasher and a crowbar which were discovered at his compound.

The body of the deceased was moved to the Lolgorian Level IV Hospital for an autopsy.

Police expressed gratitude to the members of the public for their efforts in arresting the suspect who is currently cooling his heels in police custody pending arraignment.

"Some of the exhibits recovered from the suspect's compound include a pair of gumboots, a slasher and a crowbar, all stained with blood. The body is at Lolgorian Level IV Hospital awaiting autopsy, while the suspect is in police custody pending arraignment. The National Police Service thanks members of the public for their collaboration," NPS added.
