Detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) have arrested suspected drug dealer Nancy Kigunzu alias 'Mathe wa Ngara'.

Kigunzu was arrested at Nairobi's Central Business District (CBD) hours after she moved to court seeking orders to stop her imminent arrest.

According to reports, Kigunzu has been hiding since Tuesday last week when police raided her alleged drug den in Ngara.

Immediately after her arrest, she was driven to DCI headquarters for grilling as police plan to arraign her on Tuesday.

She is believed to be the mastermind behind drug trafficking in parts of Nairobi and the owner of assorted narcotics nabbed last week with over Ksh12 million in cash.

During the raid, police officers arrested at least four suspects namely Eugene Jumba, Hillary Jumbo, Sheila Withers and Teresa Wanjiru.

"The four were arrested with 26 bags of Cannabis Sativa (Marijuana), four cartons of rolling materials, 173 pieces of suspected blended drug/bhang, and 42 cartons each containing 200 pieces of cigarettes," police said in a statement last week.
