‘My life is in danger’ – w***n who sued Bishop David Muriithi for child upkeep says

Judy Mutave Muasya the lady who has sued the House of Grace Bishop David Muriithi for child upkeep claims her life is in danger.

Judy says she is scared for her security and that of her son after a Mercedes Benz occupied by unknown people was spotted in her compound in Kilimani by her brother.

"They knocked severally but no one opened for them," she lamented.

The woman has sued House of Grace Bishop David Muriithi for monthly upkeep amounting to Ksh 100,000 for her two-year-old son.

Through her lawyer Danstan Omari the lady wants the bishop to pay fees at Kiota School, as well as Ksh1,000 for salon, Ksh5,000 for entertainment, Ksh3,000 for utilities and Ksh2,000 for her son’s toys.

She also wants the court to order Bishop Muriithi to pay Ksh20, 000 for food and shopping, Ksh35, 000 for house rent, Ksh11, 000 for clothing and Ksh10, 000 for the house help.

According to court papers, the woman claims that she met the bishop in 2018 and they entered a romantic relationship, leading to her giving birth in January 2019.

"The Plaintiff avers that during her pregnancy period the Defendant was very supportive and he willfully provided for her and the unborn child" she claims in court papers.

Through her lawyer Danstan Omari, Judy claims that she has been single handedly taking care of the minor without the help of the defendant since the minor was born.

She says tha the minor has attained the age to join school and therefore the defendant should support her with paying the minor’s school fees and school related expenses among other expenses.

Through her affidavit, she claims that the Bishop has been defiant and brazen to accept responsibility and to assist her with the maintenance of the minor herein.

"The Plaintiff avers that the Defendant has threatened her that he will not give his support towards the maintenance of the minor by claiming that he is a Bishop with no salary thus denying the minor what is rightfully his" she added.

"The Plaintiff avers that the Defendant is a Bishop of a reputable church within the Republic of Kenya who lives a high-end life and is not willing to offer his child the same kind of life which is a clear indication of discrimination on his part," read court documents.

Through her lawyer Judy avers that the Defendant does not want anything to do with the minor despite him knowing he is the biological father of the minor he has incessantly shown no interest by failing to address the issue on how the child will be cared for, protected and/ safeguarded or even giving emotional and/or financial support.

She claims that the Bishop has totally ignored his role as a parent and has all along left all the parental responsibilities of the minor to her.
