Motorist sent flying into Nairobi River after hitting speed bump on Outering Road

A motorist, who hit a speed bump on Outering Road in Nairobi on Saturday night, has been taken to Kijabe Mission Hospital.

The motorist, who was driving a Subaru Impreza of registration plate KCG 673F, flew 60 meters into Nairobi River after smashing against the speed bump near Kariobangi Roundabout. He was driving towards Thika Superhighway from Donholm area at around 11pm Saturday.

Besides the driver, identified as Moses Munene, the vehicle had a passenger on board, identified as Mary Mumbi.

Police say Munene broke his leg in the crash. Mumbi, on the other hand, sustained minor injuries and was also hospitalised.

The mangled car was removed from the river at around 11am on Sunday, December 22, and towed to Pangani Police Station.
