Felista Wanjiku from Saba Saba Murang'a county is pleading with the government to help bring back her daughter who is stranded in Saudi Arabia.

Wanjiku who noted that she was unaware that her daughter had secured a job in Saudi Arabia, says her daughter Bilha Nduta, 26, had not notified anyone that she was moving to the gulf.

She however recalled that three months ago, Nduta went home and asked for her father's death certificate and a photocopy of her identity card without explaining why she needed them only to discover that her daughter had travelled for work in Saudi Arabia.

The distraught mother stated that she recently got a distress call from her daughter stating that her employer was torturing her and she was contemplating running away.

"My daughter told me that she was being mistreated by her employers and she feared that they might hurt her. She also told me she was fearing for her life following the rumours that the natives in the country kill their employees if they fail to get along," she stated.

Wanjiku noted that her daughter sought refuge at a tribunal's office and later moved to a different place where she has been given a three-day ultimatum to figure her way out or end up in jail.

"Two days ago she posted a video on Facebook crying for help," the mother added.

The mother who says her daughter had travelled to support her family back home is now appealing to the government to help rescue her daughter and bring her back home as soon as possible.

"My daughter requires approximately Ksh70,000 for her travel and I am not able to raise such a huge amount of money in days," she added.
