A section of residents in Njuki village, Tigania Central found themselves throwing up a meal they enjoyed after discovering that they fed on a dog.

According to a source who spoke to K24 Digital on Tuesday, November 9 the man identified as Peter Mugambi decided to slaughter his dog after failing to raise enough money for purchasing cooking flour.

"I wanted to buy flour for cooking Ugali and when I did not get the money, I decided to slaughter my dog and sell the meat," Mugambi said.

The man further told area chief Michuki Mutiga that he lied to five unsuspecting buyers of the meat that he slaughtered his goat in order to avoid queries.

"We found him in Githiere village near Tigani West with five visitors in his compound," Chief Mutiga said adding that upon further inspection, he discovered the skin, tail and head of the slaughtered dog behind Mugambi's house.

The man has since been arrested and will be charged with selling meat that has not been declared fir for human consumption.
