Sleuths in Juja are holding Githobokoni Member of County Assembly (MCA) James Nginya Njenga over alleged murder of a 45-year-old man.
Njenga who is completing his first term at the Kiambu County assembly is said to have hit Gerald Gachugu Gichuhi on his forehead on Tuesday night while at his (Njenga's) residence at West View Estate within Juja.
Gachugu was rushed to Thika Level Five Hospital but succumbed to grave injuries while undergoing treatment.
His body, according to a police report was transferred to Thika General Kago Funeral Home awaiting autopsy.
"Njenga (James) and his girlfriend Julia Wambui Macharia, 29, have been arrested in connection with the offence of murder and are being held at Juja police station," police said.
"They will be arraigned before Thika Law Courts on May 12, 2022," the police report added.
