Police have arrested a man in Nakuru County after he speared to death his wife following a quarrel over a few sacks of maize.

The murder suspect, 48-year-old Wilson Koech, wanted to sell a few sacks of maize but his wife and son objected.

In a fit of anger, the suspect allegedly turned on the two, first on his son with a machete but he escaped his wrath unscathed.

However, his 43-year-old wife was not so lucky.

The suspect is said to have picked a spear and aimed it at her, piercing her on the chest.

She died on the spot, according to horrified neighbours who witnessed the incident that occurred on Tuesday evening, February 9, at Kaptimon Village in Lawina, Elburgon.

Police later arrested the suspect who is now waiting to be arraigned for murder and attempted murder.
