A police officer accused of killing Wycliffe Owour, one of the suspects in the Ksh72 million Nairobi West ATM heist in 2019, has been charged with murder.

A middle-aged man has been arraigned in a Kisumu court for sodomising a 13-year-old boy and infecting him with HIV/AIDS.

Richard Ouko appeared before Winam Law courts Senior Principal Magistrate Chrispine Noel Choka to answer charges of defilement.

Ouko is accused of sodomizing the minor on diverse dates between October 29, 2021, and October 31, 2021, in the Manyatta area in Kisumu.

The suspect will also be charged for committing an indecent act with a child as well as deliberately transmitting HIV to his victim.

"On the diverse dates between Oct 29 to Oct 31st in Manyatta having actual knowledge that you were infected with HIV, you intentionally, knowingly and wilfully had unprotected sexual intercourse with a child aged 13 which infected the said child with HIV," the charge sheet read in part.

The accused was also charged with kidnapping the child to dishonestly take money from Emily Achieng, his victim's mother.

He, however, pleaded not guilty to all the charges pressed against him and was released on a bond of sh.500,000.
