Kirinyaga: Two men accused of threatening to kill their uncle, destroying properties arraigned

Two brothers from Gitonguini village within Kirinyaga County have been arraigned at a Kerugoya Court for threatening to kill their uncle and for malicious damage of property.

According to the charge sheet seen by K24 Digital, the two are accused of threatening to kill their uncle, David Mararo Kabui, on May 2.

In the second count, the two are suspected of cutting down 804 banana stems estimated to be worth Ksh281 400 belonging to Mararo.

“On the 2nd day of May 2021, Simon Muriuki and Geoffrey Mashoka Miano, jointly with another not in court, cut down 804 banana stems of cultivated crops…” the charge sheet reads in part.

The two pleaded not guilty and were each released on a Ksh30,000 cash bail or a Ksh100, 000 bond with a surety of a similar amount.

 They are expected back in court on August 3.

They were arraigned before Principal Magistrate Grace Kirugumi.
