ODM announces cake-cutting schedule to celebrate Raila Odinga’s 79th birthday

The Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) has announced a countrywide cake-cutting ceremony to celebrate its leader Raila Odinga's 79th birthday.

K24 Digital understands that Raila will celebrate his birthday in Malindi, Kilifi county, at the residence of former Mombasa Governor Hasan Joho.

 In a statement, ODM said the cake-cutting ceremony at different places in the country will be symbolic, to ‘cut the cost of living and make life bearable for Kenyans’.

"There will be cake-cutting ceremonies across the county at 3:00 pm today at designated places to celebrate PL Raila Odinga’s birthday. The cutting of the cake will be symbolic… ‘cut the cost of living and make life bearable for Kenyans’," the statement read.

Among the places where the cake-cutting will happen include Kisii CBD roundabout, Siaya Governor's Park, the Tom Mboya Statue in Nairobi CBD, Maili Tatu in Maua, Meru county, Taxi Park in Busia, Mikindani Primary School in Mombasa, Hotel Conrad in Kitengela, Kajiado, Mabriver in Kwale, Narok and Kisumu CBD. 

Birthday wishes to Raila

Several leaders have wished the former Prime Minister a happy birthday, including Azimio la Umoja-One Kenya co-principals Kalonzo Musyoka and Martha Karua.

"Happy Birthday Jakom. There are relatively few people like you who have dedicated their entire lives to the betterment of the country. I honour you. God bless you with abundant energy as well as a happy, healthy, and prosperous life," Kalonzo said.

Narc Kenya party leader Martha Karua said, "Happy Birthday kinara Wangu Raila Odinga May you have many happy returns to serve."
