Police officers have killed one suspected armed robber in the South B area who attempted to access the Trans Towers building.

According to a police statement, two robbers engaged the officers in a hide and seek game before being cornered.

"After an hour without success, they parked their vehicle by a perimeter wall surrounding one of the buildings and switched off its lights, camouflaging the versatile dark beast synonymous with detectives hunting down dangerous criminals in the city," police said.

Minutes later, the officers heard the sound of an oncoming motorbike.

"Ndio hiyo afande! ndio hiyo! Whispered constable Kimanzi to his boss, corporal Okello, who led the operation. Akikaribia weka full light, answered Okello as he beckoned PC Maina, who was on the back seat, to alight with him and take cover by the vehicle's body," police added.

In the ensuing commotion, one of the thugs landed on the tarmac while the rider struggled with the motorbike.
