Tiaty Member of Parliament(MP) William Kamket was on Thursday, February 8, 2024, released on free bond hours after his arrest.

The legislator was arrested alongside West Pokot Deputy Governor Robert Komolle with allegations of incitement to violence. The two were later taken to Nakuru for grilling by the Directorate of Criminal Investigations detectives.

Kamket was questioned for a few hours before being released but was ordered to report back for another sermon in two weeks.

On the other hand, the deputy county boss is still being questioned by the detectives.

"They have told me that I have been released on a free bond to come back in two weeks. I do not know the crime I have committed," Kamket stated after his release.

The two had been summoned by the regional DCI boss Charles Kanyuira to give more information about the enduring banditry attacks in the Rift Valley region.
