A family in Gatundu North, Kiambu County is urging Kenyans to help them find their teenage kin who went missing in November last year.

Scolasticah Wambui, 16, went missing from home on November 7, 2020, shortly after returning home from church, her elder sister, Stella Njoroge, says.

“She took her small pouch in the house, and left. That afternoon, we had a function at my grandmother’s place, and she was expected to attend. It was that day that she went missing in circumstances we are yet to understand,” said Ms Njoroge.

Scolasticah is a Form Two student at HotSprings Girls’ High School in Maai Mahiu.

“Two days after she went missing, we filed a report at a local police station. The officers have been telling us that they are continuing with her search. However, we are getting more anxious by the day,” said Ms Njoroge.

The missing person’s elder sibling says her sister was a “quiet and reserved girl”.

“She hardly got into a fight with anyone, and by the time she went missing, she was on good terms with everyone at home,” said Ms Njoroge, dispelling speculation of a family wrangle leading to her sister’s disappearance from home.

“Actually, that month we had planned to treat her on her birthday, and shop for her,” she added.

The missing person is the last-born in a family of four siblings (two boys and two girls).

Should you have information about Scolasticah’s whereabouts, report to any nearby police station, or reach her sister, Stella Njoroge, on 0798 326 868.
