Governor Kananu mourns Nairobi Deputy Minority Leader

Nairobi Governor Ann Kananu has condoled with the family of Nominated MCA and Deputy Minority leader Mellab Lumallah who passed away on Monday morning while receiving treatment in India.

In her condolence message, Kananu eulogized the late MCA as a cheerful leader who broke barriers to be where she was, by her demise. She said that Mellab was a go-getter who fought to be heard in instances she felt she was being undermined.

"It is with great sadness and heavy heart that I accept the passing of Hon. Mellab Lumallah. She was an amazing and cheerful person. Mellab broke many barriers to become a Nominated MCA and the Nairobi Deputy Minority leader," Kananu said.

Adding: "Mellab, was a no-nonsense personality who fought to be heard in instances where she felt she was not heard."

The governor said that the sudden death cut short Lumalla's desire to vie for an elective seat in the coming election. According to reports, Lumallah was planning to vie for the Kabiru Ward Member of County Assembly in the August polls.
