Homa Bay Woman Representative Glady Wanga on Sunday introduced her husband George Wanga to the public for the first time.

This happened at a rally where she was launching her quest for the Homa Bay governor seat ahead of the August elections.

Glady, whose relationship with her husband has been a subject of public scrutiny due to her political stands, introduced the man who she claims took her to Homa Bay from Kano, Kisumu County.

While introducing her to the crowd, the second-term lawmaker joked that it is Wanga who saved her from the misery of the occasional floods that affects her ancestral home in Kano.

"Let me bring forward the man who brought here in Homa Bay from Kano. You know in Kano we are occasionally affected by floods that make us start begging for help from the government.

"The man standing next to me is called George Wanga (her husband), he is the man who went through all the troubles to come to our home in Kano, a place where sometimes we are being swept away by floods, and rescued me. I can't leave his man because of the great things he has done for me," Glady said amid cheers from the crowd.

While addressing the crowd, Wanga revealed that Gladys informed him of her intentions to run for the Homa Bay County governor seat in the coming elections two years ago.

He said that he has set his wife free to serve the people of Homa Bay as their next governor in the coming government but asked the residents to take care of her during her tenure

"I am here to inform you that I have released my wife to serve the people of Homa Bay. I want to let everybody know that she has my full support. My only request is that you take care of her," Wanga said.
