Police investigate 20-year-old schoolgirl who buried foetus after giving birth

Police in Ganze, Kilifi County have launched investigations into an incident where a 20-year-old student at Dungicha Secondary School gave birth and buried the foetus on Wednesday, October 5, 2022.

According to a police report seen by K24 Digital, the suspect, Kadzo Halima, reportedly buried her foetus moments after she gave birth. Police then arrested her after the area chief reported the matter.

At the time of the arrest, Kadzo was taken for medical examination to assist in investigations.

"Halima Kadzo Omar aged 20 years. a student at Dungicha Secondary School gave birth and buried her foetus," the chief told the police.

Police hunt for gang of six

In a separate incident, police in Keroka, Kisii County are pursuing a gang of six men who broke into Nyasimwamu Primary School and stole Ksh6000 before escaping to an unknown destination.

In the incident that occurred on Wednesday, October 5, 2022, the six broke into the school in the wee hours of the morning armed with rungus and other crude weapons.

They attacked and injured the watchman who was manning the area before breaking into the headteacher's office where they stole the cash.

"Six people armed with crude weapons invaded the school compound at around 2:00 am. They attacked the watchman with rungus before breaking into the head teacher's office where they stole Ksh6000 and escaped," the police report stated.

The victim was rushed to a nearby health facility where he was treated and later discharged in stable condition.
