Health Cabinet Secretary Mutahi Kagwe has confirmed that 531 people tested positive for Covid-19 in the past 24 hours.
According to the Ministry of Health, the 531 tested positive from a sample size of 8,154.
In a statement to news rooms on Saturday, July 3 Kagwe said the Covid-19 positivity rate now stands at 6.5%.

"Total confirmed positive cases are now 185,591 and cumulative tests so far conducted are 1,978,155," the statement said in part.
MOH further revealed that 276 patients recovered from the virus while 151 are from the Home Based and Isolation Care program with 125 patients coming from various health facilities.
Total recoveries now stand at 126,956 out of whom 91,701 are from Home Based Care and Isolation program, while 35,255 are from various health facilities.
20 patients have succumbed to the disease, all of them being late deaths reported after conducting facility record audits on diverse dates in the months of June and July 2021. The cumulative fatalities now stand at 3,671.
1,144 patients are currently admitted in various health facilities, while 5,785 patients are under Home Based Isolation and Care program. 124 patients are in the ICU, 39 of whom are on ventilatory support and 51 on supplemental oxygen. 34 patients are under observation
152 patients are separately on supplemental oxygen with 137 of them in general wards and 15 in High Dependency Units (HDU).
1,468,908 vaccines had so far been administered across the country as of today. Of these, total first doses are 1,016,190 while second doses are 452,718.
In terms of new infections by counties, Nairobi had 185 cases, Uasin Gishu 43, Busia 38, Kiambu 30, Siaya 28, Kilifi 28, Nakuru 28, Kisumu 24, Migori 20, Kakamega 14, Nyamira 12, Kericho 12, Homa Bay 9, Kajiado 6, Laikipia 5, Vihiga 5, Kisii 4, Kwale 4, Taita Taveta 4, Nyandarua 4.
Murang’a had 4 cases, Baringo 3, Kitui 3, Machakos 3, Meru 3, Turkana 3, Bomet 2, Bungoma 2, Kirinyaga 1, Mombasa 1, Narok 1, Nyeri 1 and West Pokot 1.
The uptake of the second dose among those who received their first dose is at 44.6% with the majority being males at 55% while females are at 45%. Proportion of adults fully vaccinated is 1.74%.
The uptake of the second dose by Priority Groups is as follows: Aged 58 years and above 140,779, Others 125,572, Health Workers 90,214, Teachers 61,688 while Security Officers are at 34,465.
