Hirji Ramji Patel was last year arrested by Parklands DCI detectives after he was found allegedly impersonating police officers.

A constable based at the Parklands police station has been boxed to death by a businessman in his shop in Ngara, Nairobi County.

The policeman had gone to an electronics shop within Ngara Nyayo Market when an argument between him and the seller identified as Willy alias ‘Rasta’ ensued.

According to an eyewitness, Willy assaulted the officer who fell on the tarmac and died on the spot.

The suspect then escaped towards the Nairobi River and is yet to be traced.

“He was hit by Rasta and he fell on the tarmac. Rasta then fled towards the river. I, however, did not know what they were arguing about,” the eyewitness said.

Detectives from Starehe Directorate of Criminal Investigations have launched investigations into the death and a manhunt for the suspect.
