The body of a 25-year-old man who drowned in River Kuja (River Gucha) at Ober Kabuoch village in Ndhiwa three weeks ago has finally been retrieved.

Saddam Ochieng Oloo’s body was retrieved on Monday morning, June 8, by
villagers and relatives.

Oloo met his death while trying to cross the swollen river while in the company of his two friends who swam to safety.

His relatives had been camping at the river bank since the search for his body started.

Confirming the incident to KNA, Kobatia Chief Mark Ongoro appealed to residents to be cautious while crossing swollen rivers.

The administrator said that the decomposing body was set to be interred
later today at their home in Ober Kabooch village.
