Boda boda operators in Migori Town on Monday, December 23, frogmarched a 40-year-old man down the streets after he allegedly admitted to defiling his 15-year-old daughter.

The suspect, Samuel Odhiambo Ogur, a resident of Sherena area in Nyatike, was beaten up by the transporters after Ogur’s wife told them that he had defiled their teenage daughter when she [wife] was away from home.

During the frogmarching, Ogur allegedly confessed to sexually abusing his daughter, saying it was the first time he was doing that, and that “the devil led him astray”.

One of Ogur’s neighbours told K24 Digital that the suspect, who is famously known as Ochenge, is a former fisherman, who recently secured a job in Wasio area as a security guard.

Petro Station boda boda chairperson, Moses Onditi, said he and his colleagues rescued the suspect from an irate mob that had vowed to lynch him.

Ogur’s daughter told K24 Digital that the suspect sexually abused her on Thursday, December 19.

A boda boda rider, Kennedy Ochieng, said the victim’s mother walked passed them while weeping, and when they inquired why she was sad, the woman told them that her husband had defiled their teenage child.

It was then that the riders went to where Ogur was, and found a mob already baying for his blood.

Ochieng said, they, thereafter, roughed up Ogur so as to prompt him to confess, and, when he did, they took him to Migori Police Station, where he is being held as investigations continue.
