As celebrations continue to heighten across Dakar following the magnificent victory of Senegal who claimed their first Africa Cup of Nations title in a penalty shoot-out over seven-time winners Egypt, KANU chairman Gideon Moi has vowed to deliver the cock he promised Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka.

According to Musyoka, Moi had promised him the cock prize should Senegal take the trophy home for the first time.

After Liverpool's Sadio Mane stepped up to make history for the West African nation in Cameroon’s Olembe Stadium, scoring the penalty that secured his team’s 4-2 victory in the penalty shoot-out, Moi took to his Facebook page to assure Musyoka that his prize was ready for collection.

"Hearty congratulations The Lions of Teranga for emerging winners of AFCON. Sisi kama supporters wa The Pharaohs, hata hatujaskia vibaya. Now Kalonzo Musyoka can come for his prize," Moi posted.

Earlier, Musyoka has sought to know whether Moi was serious about the prize.

"Gooooooooaaaallllll!!!!! This is a sneak preview of August 9, 2022. The Red Sea waters have been parted and we are walking through its blue waters," he wrote.

Senegal had previously lost two Nations Cup finals, finishing runners-up in 2002 and 2019.
